For the AFTA integration in 2006, the company is to invest into the new steel plant incorporating the latest proven technique for the annual production of 500,000 tons billets; 400,000 tons rolled products and the port of 1,000,000 tpy to increase its competitiveness in the world market.

The company specializes in producing reinforced bars, wire rods and sections (angles, channels) in accordance with Vietnamese, Russian, Japanese, German, American standards; special quality steel grades for cold heading, welding cores and down stream products i.e wire netting, wires, barbed wires, nails, etc. The company also produces ferrosilicon, calcium carbide, various engineering and metallurgical products serving the processing line. The successful production of steel grade 60 - ASTM A615/A615M standard, a high quality steel grade never made in Vietnam before is its critical achievement. In addition, oxygen, nitrogen and argon for industrial and medical application satisfying the stringent market requirement are in the company's scope of business.

The rolling capacity of 1,000,000 tpy together with the sales networks spreading throughout the country i.e Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta River region, etc has given SSC the capability of realizing the full demand of project clients as well as end-users. Southern steel has presented at various kinds of local constructions including civil works, industrial works, high-rise, quay and bridge, etc and exported to overseas

To give the optimal satisfaction to the clients, SSC has also established the J.Vs with Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Australia and Malaysia to provide galvanized and color steel sheets, galvanized pipes, engineering and general galvanizing services for local and overseas markets.

Its products have been produced on the state of the art equipment with the application of advanced technology i.e. POMINI rolling mill from Italy, spectrometers, oxygen plant, ladle furnace, etc. The company has been accredited with ISO 9001:2000 certification and its products have been awarded with the title of High Quality Vietnamese Product, Vietnamese Quality Prize.
