evolved catering for diners keen to experience the exotic taste and flavours of
not only the east, but also the west. The all-day casual dining restaurant features selective buffet promotions and
a la carte choices, with about 30 daily changing dishes. Set lunch and dinner
menus are also available. Café Singapore is open daily between 6am - 11pm and
has a dining capacity of 110 persons. Even so, advance reservations are required
if you want to order popular dishes like fish head curry (around $9 for 2
people), with the sour and spicy taste of fresh chillies, tomatoes, aubergines,
coconut milk, bringal, ladies fingers, as well as a whole fish head in a special
masala gravy. It would be a crying shame if you didn't try Hokkien Mee ($4.80
per person), with its large bowl of fried golden wheat noodles and shrimps,
squid, sliced pork and beansprouts, drowing in a rich prawn stock. Or perhaps
Char Kway Teow ($4.80 per person); Singaporean flat rice noodles served with
fish cake, cockles, prawns and vegetables, fried in dark, sweet soya sauce. If
you have any room left, be sure to check out the pastry and bakery corner for
dessert, reputed to be one of the finest in town. |
